Introduction
Yuzu is a Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker (CLMM) built on the high-performance Movement Network, offering traders and liquidity providers an efficient, low-cost, and high-speed decentralized exchange. Whether you’re a seasoned DeFi user or just getting started, this guide will walk you through every step of trading and providing liquidity on Yuzu.
Setting Up a Movement-Compatible Wallet
Before trading on Yuzu, you need a wallet that supports the Movement Network. Here’s how to connect:
- Choose a Wallet — Popular choices include Nightly wallet and Razor.
- Install and Set Up — Download the extension or mobile app, create a new wallet, and securely store your seed phrase.
- Select Movement Network — Ensure that your wallet is set to Movement Network for seamless transactions.
- Connect to Yuzu — Visit Yuzu and click “Connect Wallet”.
Loading Funds onto Your Wallet
To trade or provide liquidity, you must have $MOVE (Movement’s native token) in your wallet. Here there are a few options:
- Deposit Tokens from a CEX: Transfer $MOVE from a centralized exchange (CEX) that supports the Movement Network.
- Bridge Assets: If you have assets on another chain, use the official Movement Bridge to transfer them from Ethereum to Movement.
- Receive via Peer-to-Peer (P2P): Get tokens directly from another user on the same network.
Ensure you have enough $MOVE to cover transaction fees.
Swapping Tokens on Yuzu
Once your wallet is funded, you can start trading:
Accessing the Swap Page
- Navigate to the Swap Page on Yuzu’s interface.
- Select the tokens you want to swap (e.g., USDC → MOVE).
Adjusting Swap Settings
- Slippage Tolerance: Set the maximum price variation you’re willing to accept (e.g., 0.5%, 1%, or custom).
- Gas Fees: Ensure you have sufficient MOVE to cover transaction fees.
- TIP — Toggle Aggregator Mode: Enables routing through Mosaic for optimized liquidity and better execution prices across all pools on Movement.
Confirming the Trade
- Click “Swap” and approve the transaction in your wallet.
- Wait for confirmation — thanks to Movement Network’s high throughput, transactions settle quickly.
Creating a New Liquidity Pool
If a trading pair does not exist, you can create a new pool:
- Navigate to the Create Pool Page.
- Select the token pair you want to create liquidity for.
- Choose the fee tier (e.g., 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25%, or 1% based on expected volatility and trading volume).
- Deposit an equal value of both tokens.
- Confirm the pool creation transaction.
Once the pool is created, others can add liquidity to it.
Adding Liquidity to an Existing Pool
Adding liquidity allows you to earn fees from trades occurring within your range.
- Go to the “Add Liquidity” Page
- Select the Trading Pair
- Set a Liquidity Range — Full Range: Covers all possible prices, similar to traditional AMMs. Concentrated Range: Focuses liquidity within a specific price band for better capital efficiency.
- Deposit Tokens — Ensure you have both assets in the required ratio.
- Confirm & Supply Liquidity — Approve the transaction, and your liquidity position is created.
Your position now earns trading fees proportional to your liquidity range.
Note: Only active positions trading within their designated range earn fees and potential rewards. To optimize returns, regularly manage your positions to keep them active.
Managing Positions & Rewards
Yuzu provides a centralized dashboard to monitor and adjust your liquidity positions.
Claiming Fees and Rewards
Unlike some platforms that require manual staking, Yuzu automatically distributes fees and rewards to liquidity providers if their position is in range. Here’s how to claim them:
- Navigate to Manage Positions & Rewards.
- Locate your liquidity position(s).
- Click “Claim Fees” and/or “Claim Rewards” to withdraw earned trading fees and any additional rewards.
Increasing or Decreasing Liquidity
- Increase Position: Add more tokens to an existing position without changing the price range.
- Decrease Position: Withdraw a portion of your funds while keeping the position active by selecting “Remove Liquidity” and choose the amount you want to withdraw.
Withdrawing Liquidity
- If you want to exit a position, withdraw 100% of your provided liquidity by selecting “Remove Liquidity”.
- Approve the transaction, and your tokens will be returned to your wallet.
Advanced Features: Utilizing Mosaic for Optimized Liquidity
Yuzu has integrated Mosaic directly into the swap. Mosaic is a liquidity aggregator that routes orders across multiple sources for better execution prices.
- When enabled, Mosaic ensures trades get the best possible price with minimal slippage.
- LPs benefit from additional trade volume as Mosaic channels liquidity into Yuzu’s pools.
Users can toggle on Aggregator Mode on the Swap Page to take advantage of this feature.
